Tasting Notes

With a deep ruby colour, powerful young fruit aromas and flavours of wild berries and showing some minerality. The wine is well structure and with balanced tannins. Full bodied and an excellent example of a Douro still wine.

Region / Vineyards

This wine exemplifies the present dynamism in the Douro Region, Veredas do Douro is a new project since 2002. They are replanting regional traditional grapes such as Tinta Francisca and Touriga Fêmea, saving them from extinction while nurturing old vines of Touriga Nacional existents in the vineyards.

Vitor Carvalho and Gabriela Canossa represents the new generation of winemakers, the latter with a pedigree experience from Taylors and Real Companhia Velha.

Image, taste, distinctive character and lush were developed until 2006, when the wine was first bottled with the famous Siza Vieira architect label. The label’s delighted bodies represent all the wine’s harmonious elements.

Vinification / Ageing

Part of the wine is matured in French new oak barrels.
