Tasting Notes
It has very elegant and fresh melon aromas, plums and some tropical notes. In the mouth, it is fresh and soft, very complex on the finish where fig notes predominate.
Region / Vineyards
Casa de Santa Eufêmia is a Port House family affair since 1894. Today Lucia is theresponsible for the wine making while other two brothers look after the marketing and the cellars. The 40 ha of the vineyards grow on schist terraces located on the left bank of the Douro River at an altitude of 300 meters between Peso da Régua and Pinhao, the heart of the oldest demarcated wine producing region – The Douro.
Vinification / Ageing
Fermentation with pellicular contact from 36 to 48 hours after pressing, fermentation continues at 14ºC. Brandy added when desired level of sugar is achieved. Ageing on stainless tanks and 10% of the batch is an old wine which is high in the lightning.
